In 2013 I made myself a promise: write, record and release a new song every week for a year. The first one was called “Ready or Not.” That about summed it up.
Music had been my dream since I was a kid. But I’d spent years away from it, telling other people’s stories on video and raising a family, and I could feel it slipping away for good. It felt like time was running out, and I needed to do something a little desperate.
Somewhere around week 35 I was completely worn out, with more than a dozen songs still to go. I kept going.
I’ve been writing ever since, songs for people who take life seriously and feel things deeply, recorded in my home studio. The newest, “You and Me,” is a lullaby for my twin niece and nephew.
